Stories Behind

The Poses

Explore the Contemplative Reflections behind Yoga Poses
10 stories over 10 weeks

Book an appointment with Yoga With Priyanka
Enjoy this month of spookiness by delving deeper into the stories behind the poses - the contemplations & reflections will guide
us into taking yoga off the mat and bringing it into our daily life. This is currently being offered as an online class. You are welcome to request in person.

Most yoga poses are linked to fantastic mythological stories and creatures that stem from a pantheon of stories that come out of India. These are not just stories for they have intense contemplative reflections that can really bring our practice off the mat and into our daily life. Disclaimer - some of these stories might be gory - but they are fun and I grew up with them and would like to share them with you.

We will explore the stories beyond the following yoga poses. Opening with a grounding breath, intention setting, the story & contemplation. We will practice a blend of hatha and ashtanga (8 limbs) yoga starting with the sun salutation as a warm up and flow into the static asanas/poses whilst being mindful and aware of the body, and breath. We will be guided to mindfully accept all that arises and hold it with compassion as we navigate the asanas/poses.
Each yoga session will include a little pranayam/breathwork (nothing too intense), sun salutation, balance, forward bend, side stretches, twists, backbend and end with a version of yoga nidra/final relaxation.
we will keep the practice safe by integrating a little core work, and lower back strengthening.
In addition to this - there are 2 bonus surprises i will share if you choose to sign up
